The news from the official James Bond Twitter account failed to mention any casting or directorial appointments, although the New York Times is today reporting that Daniel Craig has signed on to play Bond for the fifth time. Sam Mendes, director of Skyfall and Spectre, is rumoured to return but there has been no confirmation of this.
Craig caused controversy in the press tour for the most recent Bond film, Spectre, when he said he’d rather “cut [his] own wrists” than make another Bond film. He later said he had been especially tired that day and meant nothing by the comments.
Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Rory Kinnear are all also expected to return, and we could see a return for Léa Seydoux.
